Tristan and I are here. We will be heading out of here soon when his lazy ass gets out of bed. Next stop Kearny for some decent coffee and then Salt Lake City.

I love driving across the country, not nearly enough pictures have been taken by my old Pentax K1000.

You're The Catcher in the Rye!

by J.D. Salinger

You are surrounded by phonies, and boy are you sick of them! In an
ongoing struggle to search for a land without phonies, you end up running away from
everything, from school to consequences. In this process, you reveal that many people
in your life have suffered torments and all you really want to do is catch them as
they fall. Perhaps using a baseball mitt. Your biggest fans are infamous

I biked to the new store in Bayview today. Natural light is fucking awesome. Can't be beat. I am gonna walk my dog and head over to Berkeley to Amoeba and Buffalo Exchange to get some new button downs and maybe some jeans.

I love my bike. Truly.
A vintage trek frame with a kick ass powder coat paint job that my bike mechanic is totally in love with. he advised me to keep the bike on tight lock down cuz someone will try to steal it...mainly him!

I made an espresso blend at work along with my colleagues that I am very very proud of. We head to Long Beach for the annual coffee conference and the national barista competition on Thursday and are there until Tuesday. I am not a fan of southern california, but it will be a nice change of scenery. I want to be in the east bay already. Sunnier, warmer, cheaper and quieter than the dirty mission.

off to the dog walk.

a new thing

SO I am sort of obsessed with the idea of learning to play the Cuban laud. It is traditionally a Puerto Rican, (obviously) Cuban and Filipino instrument. The sound of it always brings me back to my childhood, and actually makes me a bit sorta weepy when I think of it. It is one of the few things that takes me back to my real roots. It would be a tricky thing to learn how to play, but I am thinking it will be something worth saving up for.

like these guys...

oh man, if I could find the time and the right Cuban Laud.
